It is clear that suppression of  ammonia production to reduce CO2 and other greenhouse gas emissions will have a deleterious, and plausibly a disastrous effect on world food production. There are several mechanisms by which cap-and-trade and other domestic measures, and worldwide limits on carbon emissions will deplete the world food supply. 

Maybe Earl Pomeroy is  a good person, but he is part of the Left Progressive Democrat Party. We know that the Pelosi Democrat Progressive Party must be repudiated and defeated. And Earl Pomeroy must be defeated because he is part of that crowd.

The examples are numerous, unrivaled by any president, Democrat or Republican, from the Cold War to War on Terror. To cite one example, Carter’s statements about Kim Jong-Il after a 1994 trip to North Korea defy imagination. Each time I read them, I stare in disbelief…. With Carter, there’s this inexplicable gullibility. It’s an extraordinary thing that I can’t explain.

When you read this, the November elections will probably be over. If they are, the die has been cast; if they are not, please cast your vote for a return to a representative republic, and not an illusionary utopia run by professional politicians who have. It is still incredible to me that anyone in North Dakota could still harbor the delusion that these three stooges we have in Congress even remotely represent ND values and wishes.  Byron Dorgan, always the most astute of the three, already “abandoned ship,” of course taking his re-election war chest with him. Earl, after being one of Madame Pelosi’s “yes, mama” boys, now pretends to “attack” her.

The professional soldier bears all. But, my heart goes out to the draftee who had no choice or the enlistee who thought he was doing the right thing for his country by joining the military. These young people bore the stigma of rejection.

Maybe that’s why I get a lump in my throat when someone too young or too imperceptive to remember those charged and turbulent times says, “Thank you for your service.” If only they knew how much that meant.

Obama is an ideologue -- and a man addicted to demonizing his opponents. So the president will play ugly games with a recharged GOP. He will agree to extend the Bush tax cuts. But the left-winger will cling to left-wing dogma and choose ever sneakier routes that will burden American business. The ideologue and his czars and agency bosses will try to circumvent Congress and the Constitution to bring about state-controlled capitalism.

We must stand on the proven power of principle to hold us to the course set forth by the founders of the Republic in the Constitution.  We cannot let the star-power of personality capture the spotlight and diminish the voice of the people.  Instead, we must redouble our efforts to build a grassroots movement of informed citizens who are equipped to hold the elected representatives accountable to the platform.

President Barack Obama seems more concerned with appeasing environmental extremists in his administration than he is with the lost jobs of poor Americans. He's letting the environmentalists run wild with long pent-up schemes to force a change in the American way of life that includes small cars, small apartments and, for many, a return to an idealized 19th century lifestyle. It's not China that's responsible for American job losses; it's Washington's fault for shutting down whole industries and preventing new jobs from being created.

Last Friday, we told you about the debate over congressional earmarks going on in Washington, D.C.  Today, there has been a major development. 

U.S. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell has changed his mind about earmarks and has announced that he will now support a moratorium on earmarks.

As was reported last week in newspapers and on the radio, this debate has deeply involved North Dakota. 

The National Committee on Fiscal Responsibility and Reform (Debt Commission) has issued its “Draft Co-Chairs Proposal”. The document reveals the Debt Commission’s bias toward “establishment politicians”. While this initial effort is important to begin the dialogue, it does not factor in the current mood of our country toward real fiscal reform.

We are closer than we think to solving our nation’s debt problems; now the powers in Washington need only to acknowledge the Tea Party message on the commission and get the job done to benefit the taxpayers, not special interests from both sides of the isle.

Earmarks allow members of Congress to legally trade votes with each other and dictate how bureaucrats spend rather than letting them bureaucrats run wild.  They also allow the president to buy votes from Congress - again, legally.

So, how do we fix the process?  By simply requiring every earmark to:

The Bismarck Tribune did not even bother to explain why the commission decided to cut funding to the organizations. But the discussion about taxpayer-funded job development is long overdue and is finally taking place.

Funding job development is little more than a feel-good, “we’re doing something” program designed to increase the power of government at the expense of the taxpaying public. It’s simply bad public policy.

The Inheritance Tax, which was set at 0% for year 2010, is scheduled, in year 2011, to range from 18% (under $10,000) to 55% (over $3 Million) with an additional 5% on the amount over $10 Million. That means an effective 60% tax on estates over $10 Million, which would include many, if not most, farms and other family owned businesses in North Dakota

What sets the United States of America on a different plane than many other world powers is not the use of force -- it is the motivation for the deployment of troops into a conflict.  This, in my view, is what bears examination on this day set apart to honor those who have served in the military and those men and women who continue to sacrifice for the cause of freedom.  We do not enter another country to conquer or to possess but to liberate from oppression, tyranny and terror.

This Thursday (Nov 11th) our nation will be remembering our veterans in many ceremonies around the country. One of the themes of the American Legion is the "Legion Family." Which includes; the veteran, the spouse, the families, and the communities. Today more than ever the support each and every one of you provides to our armed services is critical as we continue to be a "Nation at War."  Please seek out and attend a veterans day ceremony in your area, I will be attending the events below, stop by and say hello if your in the area!

No matter what progressive does the "arguing," the illogic for income redistribution reduces to condescending preachiness. That preachiness is based on high-and-mighty "moral" positions, positions which have little basis in morality but are filled with feel-good, wealth-destroying ideology. It's amazing that Cohn flat-out acknowledged the progressive modus operandi by titling his piece, "Moral Arguments for Soaking the Rich."

The height of arrogance occurs when one cannot even recognize one's own arrogance. For the typical progressive, arrogance comes naturally and flows effortlessly.

The October non-farm payroll number came in at a positive 151,000, and the unemployment number remained elevated at 9.6 percent for the month. All of this transpired in the course of one week. So, what’s next? Hold on to your seats.”

Americans have seen the future from the mountain top of Big Government and they don’t like what they see.

For conservatives, libertarians and Tea Party folks, the work starts now for the 2012 elections. No let up. No compromise. Keep the momentum going for the next two years.

This Republican landslide ELIMINATES any grounds to blame Democrats for what happens in the legislature.  If any North Dakota Republican legislator or elected official claims that Democrats are a driving force behind any legislation, that Republican is trying to pull the wool over our eyes.

Taking control of spending requires North Dakota Republicans to change how they spend.  Your support will help pull Republican legislators into the right lane and get over the notion that having a surplus justifies spending more.

One time, in what seems to be a long time ago, New England had one heck of a good football team. In 1978, we won the conference championship averaging over 40 points per game. During the regular season, we only gave up one touchdown. It was a big deal back then to go undefeated and un-scored upon. This wasn’t our case because one touchdown had been scored on us, but how it was scored was the interesting story.

In post-Climategate America, people are beginning to appreciate the magnitude of scientific and political trickery that spawned the global warming scare. With the hoax exposed, backdoor methods are being used to control Americans' lives using "climate change" doctrine. Warmists no longer look to the shock and awe of cap and trade. They'll use the EPA.

Implementing destructive policies comes naturally to a president and Congress that forced governmental health care and financial sector takeovers on the American people. But the President hasn't deployed the third weapon in his prosperity-killing arsenal: energy policy "reform." Obama's behavior so far suggests that he wouldn't hesitate to destroy the economy to force America to "go green." With cap and trade dead, totalitarian regulation is Obama's best chance to jam greenness down Americans' throats.

Compare the economy to a human body that has been bludgeoned. Obviously, it helps when the bludgeoning stops. But just because additional blows aren’t being struck, it doesn’t mean the patient is healthy; the patient is still at risk from internal injuries. Our economy urgently needs a trip to the emergency room for radical surgery and intensive care. The government needs to undo the massive damage it has inflicted on the economy over the last several years. It needs to reverse, not merely halt, runaway spending, and to shrink, not just slow, the growth of the federal bureaucracy.

Orwell's 1984 may not be reality, but 26 years late, America is nevertheless much closer to experiencing the novel's awful predictions. If Obama somehow gets his way, using his herd of czars and regulators, Americans will be told how many times per minute we may exhale (CO₂ "pollution"), how much salt we can consume (blood pressure control to keep Obamacare costs down), how much food we may eat (ditto Obamacare concerns), and what we can and cannot say to each other over the internet.

The news media referred to yesterday’s 32% success rate of the Tea Party as if it were just a passing fad…we in the Tea Party know that is not so…we are in it for the long term. My advice to our own Senator Conrad is to get busy quickly to muster the will among Senate Democrats and Independents to ignore President Obama’s socialist agenda and pass NEW BI-PARTISAN HEALTH INSURANCE REFORM the American People can stomach.
